Description
The Mid-Michigan Grappling Challenge is a round-robin bracketed style sub-only tournament that groups individuals based on ranking and experience to provide you with as many matches as possible throughout the day.

Registration
Advanced Registration – (Register by July 25th at 11-59pm) - $70
Normal Registration – (Register by August 26th at 11-59pm) - $80
Late Registration - (Register by September 11th at 11-59pm) - $90
Spectators - $10 at the event (free entry for up to two coaches per academy)
Divisions
Competitors should sign up at their appropriate age, experience, and weight class. Those competitors without opponents will be merged with other division(s) to guarantee matches during the tournament. Participants will be notified of any mergers and if unable to be merged or unwilling to compete will be offered a credit to a future competition.
Match Rules
Submission Only tournament. Matches ending without a submission will be a referee’s decision. Decisions are heavily influenced by the competitor’s more aggressive submission attempts.Â
Match times-
   Youth 12 and under- 3 minutes
   Teens 13 - 17- 4 minutes
   Adult and Masters- 5 minutes

In addition to the prohibited moves above, the following are not allowed in any juvenile matches-

Brackets
Brackets will be created after weigh-ins and posted on SmoothComp for live tracking. Match times and brackets are only estimated and may change at any time. Competitors are encouraged to stay near their mats to ensure they do not miss their matches. Â
Coaches and Spectators
Each competitor will have a spot for a single coach during their match. Spectators and other individuals are not allowed on the competition floor to ensure the safety of all competitors.Â
Spectators can sit in bleachers on either side of the mats.
Brackets
Beautiful gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded to all podium finishers.Â
Medical Staff
There will be a trained and professional medic on sight to look after the safety of our competitors whether they need ice, get injured, or need advice on previous injuries.
Warm Up Mats
A warm-up mat will be provided at the far end of the gymnasium next to the competition mats.
Changing / Locker Rooms
Separate male/female changing areas will be provided on-site
Work the Event
We are always looking for experienced referees, event staff, as well competitors to help set up! We pay competitively, and at longer events also include snacks and meals for the day of the tournament. We trade free registration to compete in exchange for 3 hours maximum of light work during the set-up phase of the event the night before tournaments.
